| Due to a weird twist and turn of events, Sue Morano’s political career began because of SEIU District 1199. As Sue told the audience during the January 2007 Executive Board meeting, in the fall of 2001, she received a phone call from Dave Regan, president of SEIU District 1199. “After a few brief minutes of general conversation, he asked me it I would consider running for public office,” said Sue. “Now in my mind, I imagined city council or possibly a school board seat. When he said State Senate, I replied “You’re kidding!”
