Date: Thursday, January 17, 2008 At 07:00 PM                         Duration: 2 Hours

Place: Sheraton Hotel at Cleveland Hopkins Airport -

    Event is free.

What you don't know about hospitals, could kill you!

Nationally known author, Suzanne Gordon, coming to Cleveland to talk about hospitals' dirty little secret.

Hospitals in Ohio are understaffed! Too few nurses caring for too many patients equals unnecessary deaths, more infections, and more injuries for patients and staff.
Cleveland Jobs with Justice is sponsoring journalist Suzanne Gordon to speak about the nurse staffing crisis and how simple legislation to establish minimum nurse-to-patient safe staffing levels in hospitals could save hundreds of lives in Ohio. Maybe the next one could be yours!

Suzanne Gordon is the author of the acclaimed books "From Silence to Voice" and "Nursing Against the Odds." Her upcoming book is the first book-length study examining the arguments for and against nurse-to-patient ratios - staffing level legislation in hospitals. The book looks into the effects of the ratio laws enacted in Australia and California and provides an in-depth account of the difficult campaigns waged by nurses and their allies to win mandated ratios.
